Ten Things I'd save in a fire:
1. Christopher
2. Julian
3. Claire
4. Audrey
5. Ethan
6. my cell phone and charger (gotta think about after we get out right?)
7. wallet/purse
8. file folder of important docs if I could get to it upstairs
9. Claire's stuffed dog Angel
10. Audrey's night-night blanket

Here's a variation -
I spent a few years traveling for work and read MANY "what to do in a fire" instructions. Each might before retiring I'd:
1. Check out the nearest exits on the diagram
2. Go out in the hall and locate the nearest one
3. Planned to fill the bathtub with water if needed
4. Put my purse at the end of the table nearest the door
5. Put all my jewelry in my purse
6. Left my wedding ring on (I jusuall take it off at night)
7. Put the room key in my purse (in case the exit is blocked and I have to resort to #3)
8. Put my glasses in my purse
9. Put my cell phone in my purse (see Jill's posting)
10. Put shoes and jacket on floor near purse
What does Jim do when he retires? Takes off his clothes - period. I guess I am prepared enough for both of us :>)
Besides all living critters, I would take the 2 cowboys hats that Mike gave me first.
1). MY BIBLE
2) Pics of my great neices and nephews.
3). My breathing machine.
4) My cell phone and charger.
5). My current cross stitching project.
6). I would try to grab my Beanie babies and their mommies.
Other than these things honestly I am not sure what else...and it would depend on if I could use stairs/elevator or if I had to go out the window.
My first three things are absolutes.
